A naturally occurring volcanic glass born from felsic lava. Rapid cooling with minimal crystal growth creates this unique igneous rock. Found near rhyolitic lava flows with high silica content, Obsidian's high viscosity prevents mineral crystal formation, resulting in its mesmerizing glass-like appearance. Some translucent variaties are man-made, for transparancey we have notated if the stone is crafted through the alchemy of man.
